Thank you for your interest in Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) Fellowship in Disaster Medicine.
The BIDMC Fellowship in Disaster Medicine is a 1 year fellowship program with an option for a second subspecialty year if approved. The admissions process runs from July – December 31st and accepted Fellows begin their Fellowship July 1. Although the ACGME does not currently support accreditation for the Disaster Medicine subspecialty, the BIDMC Fellowship is accredited by GME. Included in the fellowship is an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School. If applicable, all visa requirements are coordinated through the Harvard International Office.
The application process for the BIDMC Fellowship in Disaster Medicine is in two parts. First, complete the application form below and submit the requested information along with an up to date CV and letter of intent. Qualified applicants will be asked to provide the names and email addresses of three current or former supervisors who will write letters of recommendation for you. The admissions committee will review and return a decision within two weeks of receipt. If positive you will then be invited to interview to complete the application process. Interviews are held in person here in Boston or conducted virtually. A decision on acceptance is then returned to you within two weeks of the interview.
